So I had to take this Code of Conduct course for our parent company IPG.  It was pretty much made up of all these fake instances of a fake company and the trouble one could get in to.  I tried to get out of it but after three threatening emails I finally took it.  It pretty much discouraged workers of having blogs.  HA.  Not happening.  As long as I don't talk about my political views or charitable organizations I'd like to support I'm good.

Sheeessssh.
Anywho.  This is a shortish week for me as I decided to take tomorrow off.  Woah.  I haven't taken a day off since the 5th grade (just like the commercial says).  We get these free days in the summer we can use whenever we want.  This has been a slow week post event and Fridays are typically the least busy of all the days in the week so yeah.  I'm sure I'll still be doing some sort of work.  Also it's the all staff meeting that I may or may not take part in.
I started the South Beach Diet again on Monday.  I've been doing really well.  The only thing I fight with is the fact that I should be eating little small meals all day and I just can't.  I'm never that hungry.  I've been living off almonds and salads pretty much.  I may venture out to the supermarket during lunch for some veggies and hummus.  Yum.  The only craving I've had was for Blueberry coffee at like 10 pm Tuesday night.  Weird.  Last night Roger made me this bowl of fruit that I LOVE but unfortunately I had to refuse.  Hardest thing ever.
So the other night I was positive the apocalypse was upon us.  I took this picture on my way to the gym on 3A.
So weird.

New York.
Man I missed it.

Arrived in New York City on Monday and we were put up at the Dream Hotel.  Really funky and modern but you can tell it was a hostel like 5 years ago.  They played 90's tunes in the lobby - I'm talking Bell Biv Devoe, En Vogue and Boyz II Men.  Yeah crazy.  They put apples on the pillows and this blue light outlined the floors and the desk. And you COULD NOT turn them off.  I took a consensus the next day and no one knew the mystery of the blue light either.  So New York.

I ate one!  But don't worry they refilled them every night.
I took a photo of the crazy blue lights but they came out shitty in my camera phone.
Monday night I went out with Lauren who I missed SOOOOO much! We went to this place called Vnyl and their menus were made out of old 80's albums.  Right there I didn't care how the food was.  The place rocked.  My menu below.
Duh!  Love Lionel Richie.  Sex.  Lauren got Michael Jackson's thriller.  Food indeed was amazing even though we hardly ate any of it cause we were talking so much.  It was amazing to get together with her after being away from each other for 2+ years and catch up like we haven't missed a beat.  Love that gal and her super offish New York apt.  We grabbed some coffee after and chatted about ridiculous ness.  Twas a good night.  Went back to the ho and went sleepy sleep for a busy next day.

Got to the studio in the am.  Hustled to put my clients space together and merchandise it.  I put my first mannequin together and dressed them!  It's a very odd thing.  After I finished the whole thing it all fell and I had to do it again.  I was going to take some photos but that really killed my morale.

Anywho.  After everyone was done we went back to the hotel.  I did a little work and I got prepared to meet my client for a drink on the rooftop deck.  So nice.  So Sex and the City.  Then we went to meet everyone for dinner at Resto.  This place was insane.  They had a pig theme. Pigs feet, pigs ears, PIGS HEADS.  Yes pigs heads.  They deep fry pigs heads and put little ham sandwiches on the outside.  YEAH. They only serve two a night and by the time we got there they were sold out, to Steve's dismay.  One of the editors who came with us suggested it.  It was alright though.  For dessert they brought out a bunch of really fancy chocolates.  Oh and they had really yummy beers and they put them in fun non-beer like glasses.

Next day was the event.  It was crazy and as always I was still getting stuff together at the 11th hour.  I walked a mile to Staples to get some copies made.  Feet were KILLING.  But I didn't wear smart shoes.  A good amount of people showed up including my favorite and some new favorites.  Got some swag and it was really successful.  Then because I'm the nicest person I offered to get fedex labels - another mile.  Seriously I wanted to cut my feet off.

Left around 5 and made dinner plans with Molly and B with the boys.  I met the boys down after I freshened up and we waited forever for a cab forever because there were CRAZY insane downpours.  I wore a really cute dress (thanks Hill!) but this time wore my Chacos. We met at this sushi place called East.  It boasts a sushi conveyor belt that comes around and kind of lets you pick what you want.  However we sat in one of the private rooms on the second floor which came with a kareoke machine.  We decided it was too expensive but listening to the others around us was just as, if not more, entertaining.  It was a really good time.  We got drinks, tons of sushi and laughs were had.

Yum.  Most of it was gone by then but you get it.  Even though my feet were killing me I walked back 10 blocks before grabbing a cab.  I love walking at night in New York.  Such a gorgeous night.  Sad to leave this morning but good to get home.

I want to go for fun soon.  Who's coming.

Fact.  I fell in love this weekend.
In true Kristen fashion it is with an inanimate object.

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2989521/0~2376780~6009391~6016197~6017771?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6017771&P=1

Helloo Lovaaa.  Yeah I kind of love them.  They put me back a pretty penny but - I got my holiday bonus - 6 months late but regardless, it still made my day.  I actually prefer it coming now.  I had so many bills around christmas I wouldn't have been able to have any fun with it.  So I bought those beauties up there.  I tried buying a pair of cheapies and they broke in less than a week.  Yeah it was a sign.  My Marc Jacobs ones are getting funky anyways.

I was going to model them for this here blog but I was afraid my photobooth would crack because of my hideous sunburn!  I really thought I was a superstar with the sunscreen yesterday.  I got out of the shower and put 30 on my face and 45 on my body and I come home in dire pain.  True story is that I didn't put any sun screen behind my legs and my butt sooo yeah it hurts alot.  I'm trying to wear pants around the house so my mom doesn't flip out.  I also have weird marks on my arm presumably from uneven sunscreen distribution.  Not cool.

The beach was great though and we decided we're going to try and make it a Sunday ritual.  So anyone who wants to beach it with us is welcome!

Saturday was also super hot.  I went to a Dunkin' event in Rhode Island and it was really great.  Not too many media showed up but the impact of the event was greater than any press it could have gotten.  And there were lots of cute boys there.

After, I went home - did a little online shopping and enjoyed the pool for a while.  Went to Target for some fun summer stuff and a new shirt I plan on wearing when the big boss comes to town.  Robyn joined me for some thai food (even though she totes didn't want it - she's a saint) and it was amazing.  Sweet Lemons  on Rt 18 in Abington/Weymouth is AMAZING. Veggie tempura, chili fish, pad thai, thai rolls are the highlights.  I enjoyed a Dirty Martini (my offish drink of the summer).  Ack I want to go back right now.  Went back to go to sleep.  I was a loser on Saturday night.  Huge loser.

Now I am sitting my office in dire pain due to my burn.  My coworker is freezing and I am trying to convince her, with the heat that is coming off me  - that I could probably heat this whole building.

Dinner with the big boss on Wednesday.  Looking forward to it.
Next week is the big week in New York where I hope to hook up with my sister from another mother Miss Lauren Brown who has turned into a serious new yorker and a few other faves.  There is a work purpose to this and I just saw the guest list - my secret BF will be there.  Blerg.

So I know I have been wicked neglectful of this blog here but I just haven't had anything to blog about.
Well lie.  Denver was fun and totally not what I expected Denver to look like.  It felt like a resort  the place we were at.  Well it kind of was but it was just nice.  Felt like Florida at all times.
However the reason I post today is because Pat and  I went to see the Raconteurs last night and they were amazing.  Seriously amazing.  They are only that super super super short list of bands that are just 1 million times better live than you'd ever imagine (for the record other bands already on the list are the now defunct Hot Rod Circuit, Linkin Park *whateverrr* and Motion City Soundtrack).  One of those bands that when you go to listen to the album the next day you're like "Nah.  I can't." because you just can't.  It won't come close to how the song sounded live.  I could count 4 or 5 times during the show when I'm like I can't believe how many times I've skipped this song!  Example:  Old Enough, You Don't Understand Me, Blue Viens, Store Bought Bones.  Well fact I did LOVE store bought bones but they mixed it up, slowed it down and killed it.  Really I can't stop listening today.
We got a quick dinner before hand and headed in to the show.  Love Bank of America Pavillion also.  Best venue in Boston for sure.  I don't think it could ever be hot there because of the sea breeze and the back drop of the Boston skyline ain't so bad either.
Ok totally can't see it.  But you get the gist.  So nice.  I would definitely go to a show there again.  We sat in the back where the cocktail tables are and to our surprise we had a reserved table.
Ok so all the tables we're reserved but w/e.  We felt special.  Some guy sat with us for a while and he was carrying around this weird tube.  We were convinced there was a gun in it - so we were confident that after we chatted him up about Mexican, photo booths and other mindless chatter - he would spare us.  We have very active imaginations.
Oh one more fun fact.  Jack White is NOT the lead singer.
The guy next to him in that picture is.  So weird.  I was like "Hey Jack White lost weight - and looks kind of hot" and Pat's like "That's not Jack White" Me: "Why is he singing!?"  So dumb.  The real singer actually looks like the lead singer of The Darkness.  Who BTW = not hot.

Must get back to work.  I still have the new album on my machine so if anyone wants it let me  know:)

Movie, Album and TV Show of the Week (month?)
The Darjeeling Limited.
I could probably go on and on about all the fantastic things about this movie and all the great lines ("Look at those assholes" "I love you but I'm going to mace you in the face") but you should probably see it for yourself.
Fact or fiction: Hotel Chevalier? Was it shown in theatres?  Not because of the nudez but I could have sworn it was released online as a prequel after the movie came out.
Coconut Records
I got this album last summer-ish and I guess you can tie my recent love affair with it to The Darjeeling Limited because I remembered how much I LOVE Jason Schwartzman.  This album is fabulous because, Zooey Dechanel is on it, Robert Schwartzman  is too and um West Coast is California Pt 2.  Great great album.  It crushed my heart a little to know that JS says he most likely will never tour (lame) but I have hope.

30 rock
No show since Sex and the City has made me want to move back to New York like 30 Rock has.  Maybe because they show my fav New York City deli Citi 75 (the ONLY place that carries my favorite black cherry soda in the diet variety and pretty much the best egg salad sandwich NYC can offer) or maybe because everything Liz Lemon says I can totally relate with.  1.  When she talks about Floyd and all the reasons he "gets" her.  2.  When she tells Floyd all the weird things about her. 3.  The singing of Annie tunes in the office. No comment.  And like 600 others.  It is quite amazing.  She is my kind of cynical and I love her.  Pat says she's filming a movie in Boston and I will find her and ask her to be my friend, Tina Fey that is. I am going to miss it for the summer.

I leave you with the Brothers Schwartzman.

So there has been a little visitor in my office for the past few days.

Tuesday I'm finishing up and getting ready to leave and I hear this rustling over by Bethany's desk which is like diagonal from mine.  I look in her trash bravely and there is nothing there.  Alrighty - time to leave, I'm going crazy.  I hear it again and this time I see a bag from her previous days lunch and the bag IS MOVING! I run - I mean RUN into my bosses office and tell her.  She's like "I can't I can't I can't!!!"  After begging, we both investigate the bag.  She throws a seltzer bottle on it and - nothing.  Then we drop a little notebook on it - again - nothing.  So then we see that Bethany has a paint stirrer on her desk (why I do not know) and Kathleen picks it up in hopes of flipping it and putting it in the trash - JUST in case there is a rodent in it.  So I'm standing at my desk and she flips it and a mouse RUNS out of the bag, flies in the air and scurries away.  I remember this in hindsight because as soon as the mouse showed it's face KB is screaming bloody murder - papers go all over - Treo goes the other way.  I - alarmed at the sitch - do the same.

Mind you all my stuff is still sitting - on at the scene of the crime.  We decide that we have to call Joe the trusty landlord who's already gone home for the evening.  We also decide he's going to be PISSED at us because he's super tidy and he's going to see that Circes Grotto bag with Bethanys leftover salad still in it.  Problem.  His # is on a post it on my desk.

So in one fall swoop I grab the post it, my MacBook (lots of Device Removal warnings that day) and my purse and we're out.  He says he will come down and try to investigate.

Next day - Wednesday.  I come in and our office is now spotless. The trash I'd been meaning to throw away for a few days is gone and both of our trash barrels are on our desk as in hint that we probably invited the mouse in with all of our lunches that we are forced to eat at our desk because lunch breaks don't exist in PR (ok lie sometimesss I check Jezebel on lunch).

So I do my work.  KB comes in with a scared look on her face - won't barely walk in my office.  I assure her that it's probably gone and Joe saved the day.

10 minutes later I'm on the phone with a coworker and WHO scurries from one side of the room to the other - MICKEY FUCKING MOUSE.

I'm sure I just hung out and I apologize but I had bigger things on my plate.  The mouse is chilling.  It is probably no bigger than a half dollar (do those even exist anymore) and it's looking for Bethany's left over lunch from the day before.  I run to KB's office and she's on a super important call with the big guys and I'm playing charades with her as to not interrupt the call.

I decide I am going to brave it on my own though.  Luckily we have ton of apparel in our office thanks to a very special client so I put one of their socks around my hand and in I go.  I just wanted to pick it up and do something with it - put it in a box I don't know.  So I am chasing it around the office - taking my heels off as to not scare it and it scurries into a supplies closet and just sits there.  Almost plays dead because he knows I am after him.   Joe tells us to close the closet and wait till he gets there and he will do away with it.

Joe comes in like a cartoon character with his cheese and mouse trap ready to set it and I'm like be careful the little sucker was at the very front of the closet and low and behold when Joe opens the closet there's Mickey - waiting patiently.

Now PETA lovers rejoice.  We released it into the field behind the office and are praying it never comes back.

Bethany has yet to hear about the crazy-ness that went on while she was traveling but tomorrow I'm going to get to tell the story again.  With Charades.

It's always nice...
to be appreciated by a client.  I come in to the office to see a delivery from Wine.com.  Duh I LOVE wine so naturally I'm thrilled.  I see it's made out to my two coworkers and myself.  So I wait until B gets there.  We open it and it's the sweetest note from one of our clients and a bottle of very nice champagne!  Long story short we (more like me cause they were both on mat leave) worked really hard and long hours to make sure a placement happened for one of our clients new products.  And it did!  And it was a fantastic review! It couldn't have been better if I wrote it myself.  So the client was excited and now we get to drink.  So I had to take a photo of it.
Kind of blurry but it's so pretty and no we haven't drank it yet. GASP!

I had a really good weekend.  Saturday I shopped (ALOT!!!) with Hillary and then we went out for some Cinco De Mayo eerrr Tres De Mayo celebrations to Acapaulcos which we decided kind of sucks but my marg was good.  Then went on a hunt for some wine and went to H and J's and watched a mini marathon of  Season 1 of 30 Rock (bought it for cheap at MovieStop!) which may be my new favorite show.  Liz Lemon is seriously my hero.  Seriously.

I bought the cutest new shoes also!!  I really wanted a pair of new flats and I had a coup to Macy's so I decided to take a look. I generally despise department stores but I figured I'd give it a whirl.  I purchased the cutest pair of flats in the world.  I couldn't find a photo of them online but they're amazing!  And they have a tiny wedge heel.  Adorbs!

Sunday Robyn called me and invited me to the Red Sox game! Well her boyfriend had invited his little brother couldn't go so I was next choice (probably like 6th they're just being nice).   It was rainy and a little poopy out but one does NOT forfeit a free ticket to Red Sox game.  Great game! We had awesome seats and I took lots of pics of my fav men Lowell, Ellsbury and of course Papelbon but they had to play that AWFUL Dropkick Murphy's song when he came out.  Awful.  I had dinner plans with mom so I went home after which I endured probably the WORST T ride EVER.  Just bad - but the thai food mom and I enjoyed was well worth it.

The rainy weather has made it's way out finally (for a little while?!) and it's gorgeous out.  Work is going good and my bosses boss sent me the nicest email about a placement I scored for one of our new clients in a huge pub.  So good that the editor told me I deserved a raise.  It's days like this that make all the crappy ones good!  I'm in good graces with all my clients ( for the time being).

Oyy to the max.  I swear I should have been Jewish.

Well the marathon is OVER!! Thank god.  I loved working with the guys and trying the new product and trouncing all around the city in my new Chaco's (shameless shout-out but I can't explain how awesome these flips are!).  Friday I was all over the city in traffic and getting parking tickets (can I expense those?!).  I bought cheap wine at Trader Joe's (YUM SERIOUSLY) and had a great time with the PBar folk.

Saturday went to Newport with the best and even though I am beyond broke I had a rad time.  We still have a pass from last year so we went to Rosecliff but none of the roses were out and neither were the costumes.  I'm so nerdy I love this crap.

Saturday night I was bumming out so I just stayed in and was emo by myself.  I'm sure I would have brought my bad mood out with me so I watched awesomely bad reality TV and the Office and went to bed at like 1130.  I don't really like to yack about drama and shit that made me upset so I'm going to leave it at that!

Saturday Mom and I went to Derby for some shopping goodness (for her not me!).  Went to Rustic Kitchen, my favorite place really esp in the Spring, Summer because we can sit outside and people watch.  We split a yummy salad and enjoyed some Sunday afternoon drinks.

Yesterday was the marathon and I had my eyes glued for coverage all day.  No such luck but watching the women winners come in was insane.  Seriously within like 2 seconds of each other.  I decided that I am going to run the marathon in two years.  Seriously.

This week my boss and I are switching places.  Really doesn't sound as exciting as it should but I'm going to share and office with B and my boss is taking my office.  Actually it is exciting because I get to move into the bright room.  It's the little things really.

I'm surrounded by 30 boxes that need sorting by me so must go back to work before the office move! Woo.

Lunch and my new obsession.

So I'm broke due to taxes and I seriously can't afford lunch.  No joke.
I get paid tomorrow - but lucky for me I have a PowerBar.  I feel like Michael Scott.
(this will totally come up on my google reader lol)

Honestly.  Never been a HUGE fan of anything besides Pria but these Smoothie Bars are INSANELY good.  Make the perfect lunch.  They only contain 3.5 g of fat and a good count of protein.  They're made for hardcore athletes (which clearly I am not) but they keep me going all day.

They taste like a smoothie meets something nutritious meets laffy taffy.

And you can also see some of the nerdy stuff I'm working on.

Back to work!

Had a great weekend!

After a crazy week  at work my boss tells me that she has 4 possible tickets to the Red Sox game because her husband and her weren't using their season tickets!  Um OK! Red Sox VS Yankees!! Getting to BOO A-Rod in person is amazing.   So I ended up getting all 4 tickets.  My mom and I took two and I gave the other two to Hillary and John. When we got there we couldn't find the seats.  They were right field box sec 8 so we walked to Sec 8 and the guy was like Oh you guys are WAY off.  He brings us pretty much down to the field to our seats - 4 rows from the field! We were like 6 feet from the Pesky Pole.

Not great pics but you get it.  I forgot my camera! I had like 5.3 seconds to get home change into some Red Sox gear, still run to FedEx and get to the T.  SO bummed.  I believe Hillary took some good pics!

It was supposed rain really bad but actually turned out not being so bad.  It rained on and off for the first hour and then stopped.  When we walked out of the T at Braintree to go home it was just downpouring! So thank you rain.

Funny story.  We decide we all want to use the bathroom/get some ice cream/get some beer so we leave our seats.  We come back 10 or so minutes later and Hillary is like "I think those people just got engaged" pointing to the young couple in front of us - Red Sox Girl, Yankees Boy.  Yeah.  I look at her ring and it's nothing special so I'm like "How do you know?!?".  Finally the girl YELLS into her phone "I'm engaged!  He did it on the jumbo tron".  Are you serious! BEST way to get engaged EVER.  Amazing.

Five minutes later another couple gets engaged.

We lost the game.  Boo.  Damn Yankees.

Saturday was also supposed to be a washout but it ended up being like 75 degrees! Amazing.  However Jess, Hill, John and I went to the movies to see 21.  John and Hillary had Lux Level upgrades.  It's really cool you sit at the top of the movie theatre in these amazing seats with so much room and you can order all these great foods and drinks.  I got chicken with peanut sauce and a really bad martini.  The movie was good.  Made me really want to go back to Vegas soon!  Also makes me want to count cards.  I think I could try.  Despite being AWFUL at math.

Made dinner at Hills and rented some more movies later.  Watched Walk hard which I loved!  We watched trailers on the Walk Hard DVD and saw a preview for Southland Tales which we decided we had to go out and rent right there and then.  Written by the same guy who wrote Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly, Southland Tales had an INSANE cast and a confusing story line - JUST like Donnie Darko.  Funny.  We didn't get it, it was too long and Pat kept calling Sean William Scott, Michael Scott McMurray.  Overall though it had good intentions.  Apparently it has a graphic novel background.  Justin Timberlake was in it and I just found the BEST scene he was in on YouTube.  Enjoy.

Totally listened to the Killers on my way home.

I need a vaca.

Seriously the amount of time I put into work these days is killing my morale.  But not really because I can see a raise in my future.  Need. To. Move. Out.  I mean honestly.  I'm hip.  I have a hip job.  And I use the word hip.  Apparently I'm not as cool as I thought I was.

I am so desperate I asked this guy with really bad gas *story below* if he was looking for a roommate.  How did I end up with all married and pretty much engaged friends.

Anyyywho.  Friday went to a friends house with Hill and met a guy with really bad gas.  At first he tried to cover it up but then he just started to let them rip.  And then being like "Oh sorry guys".  On my way out he's like "Come Here", he puts his arms around me and goes "Wait for it. Wait for it" and I'm like OMG this dude is going to FART!!  Then he says "I knew you were cold and I was waiting for you to warm up."

Lemme tell you the winner's flock to me.

Saturday I got a pedicure and chillaxed and cooked for my aunt's surprise party on Sunday.  Then I went to go see one of my bffs from college at the house she just bought (!!!!).  So insane.  She's like my little sister this girl and she's all grown up now (Love you Lizzzy).  We ate drank wine, ate popcorn and gossiped like there was no tomorrow.  Then took part in each others favorite past times: Watching Joaquin Phoenix movies.  Signs was the choice of the night.  Say what you want about it - it's a classic movie. And I love M Night.

Sunday went to my aunt's surprise 50th.  She was totes surprised.  Seriously she cried.   Talked alot with the fam, ate too much food and fell asleep watching Dif'rent Strokes.  I need BET! They totally play it all day long and everyone knows it's one of my Guilty Pleasures.

Got some interesting shows lined up.  Really want to go see Panic (!)  and MCS in May but not sure.  I like BOA Pavillion.  Anything would be better than last year @ the Tweeter Center.  Took my bum 5 hours to dry.

MM other random thoughts.  I can't wait till the Boston Marathon is done and over with.  If I can get one (or two!!!!) camera crews to the booth I will be Hero of 2008.  Wish me luck.

Oh and if Spencer Pratt was my brother I'd stab him.  In the face.

Are you tough enough?

So I have this dream last night.  My cousin Kim, 98 Degrees (YEAHHH) and I are at this place that looks like a mall but is more like a venue.  I am so excited that Drew Lachey and I are talking about our blackberrys and how it's so hard to type on them (WTF? So not) and Kim is wearing this see-through shirt because she tells me New Kids on the Block will be there.   SO weird.  So New Kids start playing on this moving sidewalk that looks like the one in Chicago O'Hare airport with all the lights above.  I start trying to get Donnie's attention to tell him we grew up near each other - and I wake up.

I think wow weird dream.  New Kids rock.  I turn on Today Show per usual as I'm getting myself ready to go to work and WHO IS ON!??! New Kids! I knew but I forgot.  Woah.  They all aged so gracefully seriously! I'm sure they've had work done but for real.  Sexy.  I thought they were cute and probably wanted to hold their hand when I was a kid but it's on a whole other level now! CRUSH.

So in honor.

And if you're not sure what I am referencing check out this post on Jezebel (which is back to normal!)

Andrea and I already decided we're TOTALLY going to see them if they tour.  I'm so excited for this I'm scaring myself.

Back to work! Happy Friday!

April Fool's.  One of the stupidest days of the year.

However, I've heard some goodies today.

I promised myself I wouldn't fall for any but one of my co-workers totally got me.

Anywho one of my favorite blogs Jezebel (http://www. jezebel. com) posted a blog that they were all fired and that CondeNast bought them out (aka sold to the man) and now instead of snarky comments on fashion and celebs it's all "This is what you have to wear in the Spring to get your man to do all the sexual positions you've already tried but we recycle them every issue" shit like that. Pretty good because it's still going on.

Thought that was pretty good but then someone at my company just sent out an email containing this link:
http://mail. google. com/mail/help/customtime/index. html

Google Mail aka Gmail is letting you compose emails - FROM THE PAST. Never send in late work related items again. Send yourself an email from the past.

"I used to be an honest person; but now I don't have to be. It's just so much easier this way. I've gained a lot of productivity by not having to think about doing the 'right' thing.
"
Todd J., Investment Banker

"I just got two tickets to Radiohead by being the 'first' to respond to a co-worker's 'first-come, first-serve' email. Someone else had already won them, but I told everyone to check their inboxes again. Everyone sort of knows I used Custom Time on this one, but I'm denying it.
"
Robby S., Paralegal

I almost bought it for like 30 seconds before I saw this on the bottom.

How come I only get ten?
Our researchers have concluded that allowing each person more than ten pre-dated emails per year would cause people to lose faith in the accuracy of time, thus rendering the feature useless.

Their findings:

N = Total emails sent
P = Probability that user believes the time stamp
φ = The Golden Ratio
L = Average life expectancy

Seriously. Kudos Google. Kudos.

What a weekend!

Friday night Robyn and I had a blast seeing Say Anything.  I know it's kind of sad but I'm totally over opening bands.  I have had to sit through so many awful ones so we planned to get there at 9:30 when we were told SA would be going on.  We got there.  Got a drink.  Heard some slutty bitches talking about such grown up things in the bathroom.  Seriously were we like that or are they just a different species.

Anywho we went to the balcony which I swear I never knew was there.  Jammed to a few songs and then they played "Glory of Love" and Robyn and I both looked at each other and we're like "Let's go downstairs!"  No one on the balcony was digging it.  Just us.  The rest of the show was fantastic.  Drive home was nice filled with deep conversation about farts, bands selling out and I'm sure more ridiculously random things I was too tired to comprehend.

Saturday night went to a party but "pre-gamed" (woah first and last time I ever use the term "pre-game") at Hill and Johns and played Rock Band.  John is so awesome that he bought a mic stand for the singer so you can play and sing at the same time.  I am not so talented however I did pull out some rousing renditions of El Scorcho (twice.  Once by myself and once to save Robyn because she didn't really know the song) and CrushCrushCrush by P.More which was amazing not only because I paid John a dollar to buy it off Xbox live but it was stuck in everyones head for the rest of the night.

Headed to Jimmy's Party!  So fun.  It was at him and Chris's new apt in Quincy and it's a really cute place complete with a smut room, funky attic and a closet under the stairs like in Harry Potter.  The smut room is called the smut room because it totally looks like a porn could be filmed down there.  Either that or one of those rooms you see on Forensic Files where criminals held there victims for months tied to a pole.  Chris and Jimmy classed it up with a beer pong table and a chandelier from Ikea.

Pat had dreams of filming his penis fish documentary in there as well specifically using it for a lab where the mad scientist plans up his scheme to take over the world via penis fish.  Read more about Pat's recount here. He is a better writer so his is a little better.  Don't hate.

Jess and John got wasted and were both silly bitches.  Jess peed in the lawn and got mad at Robyn because Robyn said something about a frozen vagina (yeah I don't get it either).  After some randomness we finally made our way to go home.  However John and I were still in the house chatting and everyone else was in the cars.  I go to the cars and John automatically gets in the backseat of Robyns car and someone opens Robyns passenger door.  Robyn starts yelling at me to shut the door so to keep her quiet I slam the door - on John's hand.  Like really hard.  As soon as I saw it shutting I went to grab it.  It was probably shut on his hand for like .5 seconds but I can't get that out my mind.  I feel awful.  John had just prior thought we were in a fight and I keep telling him I'm not mad I'm not mad - and then I shut the door on his hand.  Way to go Kristen.  TOTALLY an accident.  Awful.

Last stop at the night was McD's.  10 piece chic nugg for Pat and 10 piece select for Hill and John.  But not before we waited in line for 30 minutes talking about the nickname Cuddles, Jess peeing and crying and i'm sure other absurdness.

All in all it was a great night!  It was super exciting to see Jimmy, Chris, Lyd, Phil, Grace, and Alysee!  Actually it was exciting to see everyone because all my bff's were in the same room and that happens oh maybe once a year.  Phil also revealed to me he watches American Idol because he loves Brooke White on the pure fact that he thinks we look alike.  Yes we're both blonde, blue eyes and complete spazzes.  You be the judge.  We also chatted about our future apartment for which I am already planning a party for.

Today woke up and cleaned and did a ton of laundry.  Also cleaned my sheets, flipped my mattress and put my spring/summer duvet on (shut up!).  Watched Grandma's Boy, Rock of Love, and Americas Next Top Model.  Good day.

Oh and sticking with the same theme as last friday.

\

Seriously.
Without going into ridiculous detail, the company I work for makes you do these educational courses called "Headrush".  You have to do 100 points within the year and you get $2500 of money you can use ie. go to Social Media, PR conventions or even take a course at a college.

Anywho I did my first one yesterday and it was kind of an Agency Economics.  So I listened and what not and then this homework is passed around via email that we have to do! FULL OF MATH.  If this company makes this much how much should should be alloted to direct salary and if two people leave and new business totals $300,000 how many more employees can they hire.

Ok Hi I got a D in problem solving freshman year in college.   This is why I went into PR so I would NEVER have to do math.  I don't know how I got put in charge of sending in a submission for the Boston office but I did.  I called every smart kid I knew and no luck.  So... I took out my phone and started doing calculations.

An hour and a half later I come up with this mumb0-jumbo that LOOKS smart but probably isn't. Send it to the President of the Company.  Wait.

Flash forward till this morning.  I come in and my co-workers are like HEY! Way to go with that submission.  We were the ONLY remote office to get it right! GOT IT RIGHT!!! And I got a nice little email back from the pres.

Nerd card today.

This whole week has been a good work and tonight Robyn and I are going to good ole Worcester to see Say Anything.  So excited!  Haven't seen them since before Max went to the crazy house.

Then tomorrow Jimmy's birthday bash which I'm also really excited by.

I leave you with my favorite Grey's Anatomy clip.  Kind of goes with how I've felt about this week.

Had a great weekend!

* Pat Gary and I saw The Cribs at the Paradise on friday night and they were a-mazing.  I know I use the word often but they were fantastic.  Even more fantastic was the opening band Drug Rug who are from the town of Bean.  Even better than that was the quotes of the night tied with Pat's "This is why school shootings happen" or the parking attendents "The Jason Brothers were here last night" to which Pat, Gary and I in unison replied "The Jonas Brothers?".

*The opening opener was named Jeffrey Lewis.  I can't go in to detail because I believe it's something you have to experience on your own.   Truefax - i just tried explaining some of the madness on this here blog and had to erase because it made no sense.

* Spent Saturday in Ikea playing moderator between Hillary and John (a job a take very seriously).  Then went to din with Alison and Annie to our favorite place.  Later helped Hill and John take out old furniture and passed out watching Enchanted (which brings me to say Amy Adams was robbed awards season).

*I didn't do anything on Easter.  Mom and R were working and so were all the buds.  Later however Hill and I got Cheescake Fac take out and Annie and James came over and we watched the Office.  best . show. ever.

* Dreaded money and getting my taxes done.  Please don't ask me to be your friend for the next month for I will be paying my debt off to the man.  Damn you taxachusettts.

*Had a classic IM convo with Ellaine about how the rule of thumb in PR entertainment should always be "What would they do on Entourage" .  Back story.  I'm doing my first celebrity seeding all on my own and I was at a slight loss of who better to approach: Managers, Agents, or Publicists.  You'd think publicist to publicist would be a good plan i.e. on Entourage when Debbie Mazar's character (Totally blanking) got Turtle the Uggs.  Agents out of the question i.e. On Entourage Ari would totally toss anything that wasn't directed to him.  I decided on manager being my good point of contact i.e. Eric is totally the best way to get to Vince.

(I tryed to save the exact convo but when I went to lunch my computer had a tantrum and aborted itself.)

Really today has been the longest day.  Am I a nerd because I am really looking forward to DWTS tonight and CSI Miami!?

Video friday!!

Thought I would share some schtuff that got attention today.

In love.  Just a little.  Ok alot.

Ok one more :)

For sers. I have a huge crush on Mr. David Cook.  Hillary and I have the same argument every week about him being a dick and me loving him regardless.

Another thing that caught my eye was Anne Hathaway's acceptance speech at the HRC awards.
My one wish is seriously that everyone will one day have the outlook she does. Beautiful.  I knew I liked her for a reason!

And there is one more but unfortunately I cannot embed it.

Happy Friday!

Lots of good stuff going on just very little time to actually blog about it.

Travelled last week to Minneapolis for work party and other good things.  The company I work for is very cool.  Their proper "Holiday Party" is actually St Patricks Day themed in March and includes beer, donuts and bagels in the am.  Literally 9 am I go to get myself a bagel and there is a line at the beer.  The reason we were out there is because if you're new you have to perform in the talent show.  O'Gong show as it is called.  Much like the Gong Show in the 80's you perform until you get gonged.  Mike, Lori and I decided to be hula hooping cowboys.  We really didn't think we'd make it through the first few notes of "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" - but we did.  We were begging to be gonged - and finally about 2 minutes in it ended.  So fun though.  B's team won second place with their rendition of Welcome to The Jungle complete with brooms as guitars and pens as drum sticks.  They looked great.  After the show we were whisked away to the airport to make our way back to Beantown.  I had of a lot of  and got to meet a lot more people that I missed in January when I visited.

Saturday night we attempted to celebrate St Patricks Day early so we went to the brew house and enjoyed some Magners and themed drinks.  What I love about the Brew House is there is a jukebox.  Well not an old school one obvs but one of those fancy ones you can put your credit card in (which didn't work).  I don't have to listen to crappy music (unless someone plays it).  Anywho one of the guys in there looked like a super music snob so he was totally challenging us.  Hillary played SOS by Jonas Brothers and seriously we sang so loud and laughed so hard.  This guy looked like he absolutely wanted to murder us.  So he goes and spends like forever trying to pick some new songs.  As soon as he's done Hillary gives me some money so I can go trump him.  I find  Foo Fighters "Hey Johnny Park" and it gives you the option to play it or PLAY NEXT - which in turn means interrupting the previous persons song choices.  So I do it.  It comes on and he's like WTF and throws his arms up.  Seriously though he'd JUST played "One by One" by the Foo and now he's all mad that I'm playing a better song from a better album (The Colour and the Shape FTWWWWW).  He wasn't pleased.

After the Brewhouse we went to Annies (who JUST GOT ENGAGED!!!!  Damn should have taken a picture of the ring for my blog) to check the ring out and say hello.  Yes Annie and James just got engaged and I'm so excited!!! Robyn on the other hand is not.  She is sad because she thought she'd be next.  Sorry Crickett.
[Disclaimer: Robyn is really happy for Annie.  I just like to pick on her for it]

But yeah October 2009 Annie will be Mrs Fernandez and I will be 27!  Congratsss guys!

Sunday Robyn and I went into Boston to see  Funny Games (as previously mentioned).  I read a few more reviews about it and I think I like it a little bit more.  We also walked around town and made fun of people.  We're 13.

Last night for St Patricks Day Jess, Hill, John, Robyn and I went out to the Half Door for some celebrations.   God I have been drinking so much in the past two weeks.  I think I'm going to take a drinking sabbatical.

Work is going good. Last few weeks have been crazy.  I have days where I just want to cry because NOTHING is going right but then I have days where I just feel like on top of the world.  I just officially joined a new account team today so I'm super excited about it.  Can't wait to get my hands on new stuff.

Lauren moves back to NYC next week and it's really struck a cord in my head.  I really miss New York.  I feel like something is pulling me back there.  Like I'd miss a few friends like crazy and I'd miss my mom but sometimes I feel like the odd girl out here.  Everyones getting engaged and married and it's like where do I fit in?  I don't know. Just a thought.  I mean I do need to find a man so I can beat Robyn down the aisle (I kid I kid).

Back to work!

PS Best New "Skit" on SNL.
"Really with Seth and Amy"

Which reminds me. Bring back "The Needlers".

They also did the Target Lady sketch last night which obvs is my favorite but NBC already put the kibosh on the video of it going around Youtube. Lame NBC, lame.
