What a weekend!

Friday night Robyn and I had a blast seeing Say Anything.  I know it's kind of sad but I'm totally over opening bands.  I have had to sit through so many awful ones so we planned to get there at 9:30 when we were told SA would be going on.  We got there.  Got a drink.  Heard some slutty bitches talking about such grown up things in the bathroom.  Seriously were we like that or are they just a different species.

Anywho we went to the balcony which I swear I never knew was there.  Jammed to a few songs and then they played "Glory of Love" and Robyn and I both looked at each other and we're like "Let's go downstairs!"  No one on the balcony was digging it.  Just us.  The rest of the show was fantastic.  Drive home was nice filled with deep conversation about farts, bands selling out and I'm sure more ridiculously random things I was too tired to comprehend.

Saturday night went to a party but "pre-gamed" (woah first and last time I ever use the term "pre-game") at Hill and Johns and played Rock Band.  John is so awesome that he bought a mic stand for the singer so you can play and sing at the same time.  I am not so talented however I did pull out some rousing renditions of El Scorcho (twice.  Once by myself and once to save Robyn because she didn't really know the song) and CrushCrushCrush by P.More which was amazing not only because I paid John a dollar to buy it off Xbox live but it was stuck in everyones head for the rest of the night.

Headed to Jimmy's Party!  So fun.  It was at him and Chris's new apt in Quincy and it's a really cute place complete with a smut room, funky attic and a closet under the stairs like in Harry Potter.  The smut room is called the smut room because it totally looks like a porn could be filmed down there.  Either that or one of those rooms you see on Forensic Files where criminals held there victims for months tied to a pole.  Chris and Jimmy classed it up with a beer pong table and a chandelier from Ikea.

Pat had dreams of filming his penis fish documentary in there as well specifically using it for a lab where the mad scientist plans up his scheme to take over the world via penis fish.  Read more about Pat's recount here. He is a better writer so his is a little better.  Don't hate.

Jess and John got wasted and were both silly bitches.  Jess peed in the lawn and got mad at Robyn because Robyn said something about a frozen vagina (yeah I don't get it either).  After some randomness we finally made our way to go home.  However John and I were still in the house chatting and everyone else was in the cars.  I go to the cars and John automatically gets in the backseat of Robyns car and someone opens Robyns passenger door.  Robyn starts yelling at me to shut the door so to keep her quiet I slam the door - on John's hand.  Like really hard.  As soon as I saw it shutting I went to grab it.  It was probably shut on his hand for like .5 seconds but I can't get that out my mind.  I feel awful.  John had just prior thought we were in a fight and I keep telling him I'm not mad I'm not mad - and then I shut the door on his hand.  Way to go Kristen.  TOTALLY an accident.  Awful.

Last stop at the night was McD's.  10 piece chic nugg for Pat and 10 piece select for Hill and John.  But not before we waited in line for 30 minutes talking about the nickname Cuddles, Jess peeing and crying and i'm sure other absurdness.

All in all it was a great night!  It was super exciting to see Jimmy, Chris, Lyd, Phil, Grace, and Alysee!  Actually it was exciting to see everyone because all my bff's were in the same room and that happens oh maybe once a year.  Phil also revealed to me he watches American Idol because he loves Brooke White on the pure fact that he thinks we look alike.  Yes we're both blonde, blue eyes and complete spazzes.  You be the judge.  We also chatted about our future apartment for which I am already planning a party for.

Today woke up and cleaned and did a ton of laundry.  Also cleaned my sheets, flipped my mattress and put my spring/summer duvet on (shut up!).  Watched Grandma's Boy, Rock of Love, and Americas Next Top Model.  Good day.

Oh and sticking with the same theme as last friday.

\

Seriously.
Without going into ridiculous detail, the company I work for makes you do these educational courses called "Headrush".  You have to do 100 points within the year and you get $2500 of money you can use ie. go to Social Media, PR conventions or even take a course at a college.

Anywho I did my first one yesterday and it was kind of an Agency Economics.  So I listened and what not and then this homework is passed around via email that we have to do! FULL OF MATH.  If this company makes this much how much should should be alloted to direct salary and if two people leave and new business totals $300,000 how many more employees can they hire.

Ok Hi I got a D in problem solving freshman year in college.   This is why I went into PR so I would NEVER have to do math.  I don't know how I got put in charge of sending in a submission for the Boston office but I did.  I called every smart kid I knew and no luck.  So... I took out my phone and started doing calculations.

An hour and a half later I come up with this mumb0-jumbo that LOOKS smart but probably isn't. Send it to the President of the Company.  Wait.

Flash forward till this morning.  I come in and my co-workers are like HEY! Way to go with that submission.  We were the ONLY remote office to get it right! GOT IT RIGHT!!! And I got a nice little email back from the pres.

Nerd card today.

This whole week has been a good work and tonight Robyn and I are going to good ole Worcester to see Say Anything.  So excited!  Haven't seen them since before Max went to the crazy house.

Then tomorrow Jimmy's birthday bash which I'm also really excited by.

I leave you with my favorite Grey's Anatomy clip.  Kind of goes with how I've felt about this week.

Had a great weekend!

* Pat Gary and I saw The Cribs at the Paradise on friday night and they were a-mazing.  I know I use the word often but they were fantastic.  Even more fantastic was the opening band Drug Rug who are from the town of Bean.  Even better than that was the quotes of the night tied with Pat's "This is why school shootings happen" or the parking attendents "The Jason Brothers were here last night" to which Pat, Gary and I in unison replied "The Jonas Brothers?".

*The opening opener was named Jeffrey Lewis.  I can't go in to detail because I believe it's something you have to experience on your own.   Truefax - i just tried explaining some of the madness on this here blog and had to erase because it made no sense.

* Spent Saturday in Ikea playing moderator between Hillary and John (a job a take very seriously).  Then went to din with Alison and Annie to our favorite place.  Later helped Hill and John take out old furniture and passed out watching Enchanted (which brings me to say Amy Adams was robbed awards season).

*I didn't do anything on Easter.  Mom and R were working and so were all the buds.  Later however Hill and I got Cheescake Fac take out and Annie and James came over and we watched the Office.  best . show. ever.

* Dreaded money and getting my taxes done.  Please don't ask me to be your friend for the next month for I will be paying my debt off to the man.  Damn you taxachusettts.

*Had a classic IM convo with Ellaine about how the rule of thumb in PR entertainment should always be "What would they do on Entourage" .  Back story.  I'm doing my first celebrity seeding all on my own and I was at a slight loss of who better to approach: Managers, Agents, or Publicists.  You'd think publicist to publicist would be a good plan i.e. on Entourage when Debbie Mazar's character (Totally blanking) got Turtle the Uggs.  Agents out of the question i.e. On Entourage Ari would totally toss anything that wasn't directed to him.  I decided on manager being my good point of contact i.e. Eric is totally the best way to get to Vince.

(I tryed to save the exact convo but when I went to lunch my computer had a tantrum and aborted itself.)

Really today has been the longest day.  Am I a nerd because I am really looking forward to DWTS tonight and CSI Miami!?

Video friday!!

Thought I would share some schtuff that got attention today.

In love.  Just a little.  Ok alot.

Ok one more :)

For sers. I have a huge crush on Mr. David Cook.  Hillary and I have the same argument every week about him being a dick and me loving him regardless.

Another thing that caught my eye was Anne Hathaway's acceptance speech at the HRC awards.
My one wish is seriously that everyone will one day have the outlook she does. Beautiful.  I knew I liked her for a reason!

And there is one more but unfortunately I cannot embed it.

Happy Friday!

Lots of good stuff going on just very little time to actually blog about it.

Travelled last week to Minneapolis for work party and other good things.  The company I work for is very cool.  Their proper "Holiday Party" is actually St Patricks Day themed in March and includes beer, donuts and bagels in the am.  Literally 9 am I go to get myself a bagel and there is a line at the beer.  The reason we were out there is because if you're new you have to perform in the talent show.  O'Gong show as it is called.  Much like the Gong Show in the 80's you perform until you get gonged.  Mike, Lori and I decided to be hula hooping cowboys.  We really didn't think we'd make it through the first few notes of "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" - but we did.  We were begging to be gonged - and finally about 2 minutes in it ended.  So fun though.  B's team won second place with their rendition of Welcome to The Jungle complete with brooms as guitars and pens as drum sticks.  They looked great.  After the show we were whisked away to the airport to make our way back to Beantown.  I had of a lot of  and got to meet a lot more people that I missed in January when I visited.

Saturday night we attempted to celebrate St Patricks Day early so we went to the brew house and enjoyed some Magners and themed drinks.  What I love about the Brew House is there is a jukebox.  Well not an old school one obvs but one of those fancy ones you can put your credit card in (which didn't work).  I don't have to listen to crappy music (unless someone plays it).  Anywho one of the guys in there looked like a super music snob so he was totally challenging us.  Hillary played SOS by Jonas Brothers and seriously we sang so loud and laughed so hard.  This guy looked like he absolutely wanted to murder us.  So he goes and spends like forever trying to pick some new songs.  As soon as he's done Hillary gives me some money so I can go trump him.  I find  Foo Fighters "Hey Johnny Park" and it gives you the option to play it or PLAY NEXT - which in turn means interrupting the previous persons song choices.  So I do it.  It comes on and he's like WTF and throws his arms up.  Seriously though he'd JUST played "One by One" by the Foo and now he's all mad that I'm playing a better song from a better album (The Colour and the Shape FTWWWWW).  He wasn't pleased.

After the Brewhouse we went to Annies (who JUST GOT ENGAGED!!!!  Damn should have taken a picture of the ring for my blog) to check the ring out and say hello.  Yes Annie and James just got engaged and I'm so excited!!! Robyn on the other hand is not.  She is sad because she thought she'd be next.  Sorry Crickett.
[Disclaimer: Robyn is really happy for Annie.  I just like to pick on her for it]

But yeah October 2009 Annie will be Mrs Fernandez and I will be 27!  Congratsss guys!

Sunday Robyn and I went into Boston to see  Funny Games (as previously mentioned).  I read a few more reviews about it and I think I like it a little bit more.  We also walked around town and made fun of people.  We're 13.

Last night for St Patricks Day Jess, Hill, John, Robyn and I went out to the Half Door for some celebrations.   God I have been drinking so much in the past two weeks.  I think I'm going to take a drinking sabbatical.

Work is going good. Last few weeks have been crazy.  I have days where I just want to cry because NOTHING is going right but then I have days where I just feel like on top of the world.  I just officially joined a new account team today so I'm super excited about it.  Can't wait to get my hands on new stuff.

Lauren moves back to NYC next week and it's really struck a cord in my head.  I really miss New York.  I feel like something is pulling me back there.  Like I'd miss a few friends like crazy and I'd miss my mom but sometimes I feel like the odd girl out here.  Everyones getting engaged and married and it's like where do I fit in?  I don't know. Just a thought.  I mean I do need to find a man so I can beat Robyn down the aisle (I kid I kid).

Back to work!

PS Best New "Skit" on SNL.
"Really with Seth and Amy"

Which reminds me. Bring back "The Needlers".

They also did the Target Lady sketch last night which obvs is my favorite but NBC already put the kibosh on the video of it going around Youtube. Lame NBC, lame.

So today I saw Funny Games.  I've been really looking forward to see this since I saw the trailer.  Michael Pitt and this new comer named Brady Corbet play these criminals who torture rich families vacationing in the Hamptons.

Naomi Watts (who also executive produced) and Tim Roth and their adorable son play the family.  Naomi was actually really great in it but Michael Pitt was the standout for sure.  I always feel like he does crap movies but this really showcased his acting talent.

Anywho all in all I thought it was fantastic.  Lots of Gus Van Zant moments aka LONG shots of absolutely nothing and this one part in the movie where Michael Pitts character rewinds and changes what happens. Random because they never reference it again.

Seriously.

Side story.  So we get in the theatre and for like 15 minutes we're all alone until this woman walks in with a baby carriage and plops herself down in the front row.  We're all like oh maybe there's a real small baby in there and she still wanted to see the movie.  No not really.  A 3-4 year old child crawls out and sits next to her.  OK.  We still give her the benefit of the doubt by thinking she may have meant to see Horton Hears a Who! or something.  Movie starts, few more people trickle in - woman with young child does not move.  Couldn't believe this mom who deserves to have DSS called on her brought her kid to a rated R movie - FUNNY GAMES of all movies.  There are a lot of really graphic things that happen and yea -not for kids.

So movie ends and the guy in front of us is all like "Do you think it's wise to bring your young child to such a deranged movie?" and she's like "Yeahhhhh".  I do a pretty good impression of what she sounded like.  Everyone thanked the guy for saying something but he was still all pissed and went to yell at the people at the theatre who let this woman in.  Flash forward to 5 minutes we see this lady screaming at her little child outside of the bathroom.  Messed up.

More on the weekend later.

So I just watched this movie called Lollilove.
.

I absolutely adore Jenna Fischer and I was told that this move is a must see for Jenna fans.

So I ordered it off of Amazon and just watched it.  Fantastic.  It's pretty much a mockumentary directed/written by Jenna (and she's also in it) about rich people who self centered-ly (word?) give to charities just to make themselves feel important. I mean I guess everyone feels a little lighter when they donate to charity but the inspiration for this film are the people who go to benefits, fundraisers that cost $1,500.  But in actuality that money pays for the event - and does not go to charity.  Advertisers pay the benefit so these rich people can see their brands/stores etc while enjoying their overpriced dinner.

So Jenna and her real life husband star as this self centered couple - she's a bitch and he's crazy OCD germ a phobe.  They write all these charities down that they'd like to give to which is hilarious in itself and decide that homeless people need help the most.  They call their charity LolliLove  So they make these Lolli-pops with inspirational phrases on the outside and hand them out to homeless people.  But what happens before they reach out to the homeless is just genious.  Jenna Fischer and James Gunn work ridiculously well together.  They just bounce right off one another.

Makes me really want to make a short film.  They had a crew of like 3 people and a handheld camera. I mean clearly she's Jenna Fischer and she has celeb friends (Linda Cardelinni, Jason Segal, Judy Greer) that make funny cameos but wouldn't it be fun to just say you've made a short film.   Especially a mockumentary.

Yep I did.
I bought a new Coach bag the other day at the Outlet! In my defense it was only $75 which I think is a steal for Coach.
I decided I needed like a weekend bag.  Something that I can just run around the town with.  All my others are far too big.  I used to use my Hamptons Tote for work stuff but now that I have a laptop bag I stuff everything in there so I have little need for another big bag to lug to work.
So meet Bleecker Small Flap ( I know that means nothing to non Coach-aficionados)
Don't mind my sexy legs and my messy desk!
Isn't she so purty.  She's wicked tiny.  I had to downsize my wallet from the Soho Checkbook Flap to a Mini Skinny which may prove to be a huge problem when I travel but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.  It really does fit alot (ipod, keys, cell, mini wallet, 4 lip glosses, excedrin, antibacterial, visine) even though it looks like it doesn't.

And for $75! It was $229 marked down to $119 and then I got 40% off.  I love sweet deals! Then Robyn and I went to the Gap Outlet which was a headache.  All I wanted to get were a few tanks and a beach cover up but the line was far too long.  Then we checked out Barneys which had some Marc by Marc bags on sale but not ON sale.  Like $375 down to $340 or something.  Lame.  Checked Off Saks and they had some pretty sweet shades for real cheap.  I found a cute Dior pair that were $350 marked down to $120.  You bet I would have bought them if I didn't just buy a new bag.  So cute.  They have alot of really nice designer bags on clearance there.  TON'S of new LAMB which I actually like alot more in person.  They had Coach flats too in the shoe department but they weren't on sale AT ALL.  Maybe I'll try to go for a pair on Ebay.  Though I really have my heart set on these Tory Burch flats.

I haven't decided on Black or Red yet.  Discuss?

Maybe a better "monoblog" later this week that isn't about frivolous items.
