Country Fest was such a blast. Seriously one of the best concerts EVER.

We left around 130-ish after running around packing food and drink and we were off.
Wish it was that easy. We were going to meet my cousin because he had been tailgating since 1130 and we figured we'd have plenty of time to chill.

Not the case. We were in traffic for 3 hours. A total of 20 miles took us 3 hours. Bumper to bumper on 128 North and 95 South. Think Warped Tour 2005 but instead of little brats next to us it was drunk people with trailers. it was actually pretty fun and entertaining. We listened to the radio and sang really loud. By the third hour and being in my car with no AC we were getting really thirsty. With all just alcoholic beverages we needed water badly. So we just started asking cars next to us. We asked one car of dudes and they threw one to us which ended up going under my car. Then later we asked a lady in a winnebago.

Sweet.

We had about 30 more minutes once we got on Route 1 and by that time it was 5pm. We parked ($40!!! highway literally robbery) and drank as much as we could before went into the stadium (sounds bad I realize but the drinks inside are like $8-10 and I did bring that much money, but I did bring my favorite new low-carb beer so I was looking forward to enjoying a few before the show. Chris had already went in so we missed him but we found him inside later. Totally looking like it was going to rain we made the short walk to the stadium. We went in, found our seats and danced a little bit to Sugarland (ps thanks for the best seats Andrea! We were sad you didn't make it). By this time we're pretty well marinated (my new word for drunk pick it up lol) so we figured lets keep the buzz on. We got more drinks and waited in an obscenely long bathroom line. Went to find my cousin who well very drunk himself. Love that kid. Danced with him took some pictures moved on.

Went back to our seats to watch Brooks and Dunn who were quite good. I swear country is the bst when your drunk. Almost towards the end of their set Jess and I decide we have to pee. Being half in the bag and really having to go Jess says she's going to go in the alley lol. While over there she finds and event staffer that tells her to just go in the men's room. They do it all the time apparently so with our gut levels a little higher we make a run for it. When we go in we see like 5 other girls with the same idea and we can't stop laughing. All of a sudden like 5 cops come in and make us leave and tell us if he sees us in there again we're leaving in cuffs. Darn so close! So I get back in the ladies line. This guy comes over and tells Jess and I how ridiculous it is and how he'll keep a lookout for cops so we can go. In we go again. Jess makes it in and I'm waiting telling her to pee as fast as humanly possible and I feel a tap on my shoulder.

Cop: Blondie didn't I tell you and your friend. Next time it's these ::: swings handcuffs like 3 inches from my face::
Me: But I have to gooooooo.
Cop: ::imitates my gotta go pee dance:: Toughhhh. Come on. Handcuffs or leaving now? Your choice.
Cop: You with the pink toenails! YOU TOO. (clearly best line of the day)
Jess: ME!??

So yeah we left and by that time my bravery bought me a pass to cut in line for the ladies room.
I swear we must have told the story 10 times that day laughing harder everytime. Talk about a power trip. He totally looked like Scott Storch .
Loves it. There was totally a girl behind us who clearly was passed out before she even walked in the place. That's why she earns a spot on my Wall of Shame:

And her poor boyfriend (who she threw up on and is in that picture next to her) was dancing and singing all by himself.

We should have adopted him.

Here are some more random pictures from the day:

Me and the Hill Duff looking very festive

Please ignore my fatness but I love this picture because we have a total of oh 1 picture together.

Kenny is fucking amazing. And yes he has a Boston shirt on!

Hill and Jess - totally looked like it was going to rain! it didn't so WOO.

I look a smidge on the special side in this one but it's of the three of us so I don't mind.

This doesn't even BEGIN to describe the traffic.

Anyways the concert was AMAZING. Kenny was incredible. Something about his music ALWAYS puts me in a good mood. Maybe it's the talk about flips, drinks, sun, and good pals that gets me all warm and fuzzy. Never thought I would be a Kenny Chesney fan but I am a changed woman.

We left prob a half hour early to miss the traffic. We walked and hobbled (Jess broke her sandal trying to escape the police) back to the car, made a quick pee and head out of there. We got home in NO time. Phewwww.

Slept till forever on Sunday. Watched 3 disks of Lost, read some Harry Potter (still not done but thanks to P Dunn I know the ending. Thanks) and did some work work.

Maybe possibly going to the Red Sox game tonight.

xxoo

PS Congrats Robyn who just called me to tell me she got a new JOB!!!!!

I can't believe how fast this year is going by!
I was just thinking back @ January and feeling like it was yesterday.

Crazy!

So I had my first conference call today. All by myself. I usually have my boss with me leading the PR reigns but since she's out today it was me. Answering all the PR questions the client had. Sounds really stupid but I was nervous. It's for the show in Vegas that I am attending anyways so it's good it was just me. I outlined things I had researched etc and they were so impressed. I did quite well. I mostly just listened to really boring stuff but when I came up I kicked ass. I'm really looking forward to the trip! Sounds like it should be a good time.

Got my company credit card yesterday. So weird to see my name on an American Express card. And in my wallet. Bad? y/n.

Enjoying the peace and quiet of not having mom and roger around. I got home yesterday after work and cleaned up for I was having some friends over for pool and fun. I go out just to turn on the pool and I notice it's really low. Like way below where it should be. I pretty much fall over myself trying to find out where the leak is and I see this hole in the hose that is attached to the filter. Stuck inside the hole is a HORNET! That probably worked it's way through the skimmer to the hose and found this little hole but made it that far thus causing the leak. So I bravely open it a little further so the bug can come out and I see where I can pull it up so it's connected again. Phew. Still leaking slightly but I'll keep my eye on it. I put the water hose in the pool to start filling it up and cross my fingers. Also figure I won't tell my mom and roger seeing as they're on vaca and they'll be flipping out the whole time if they know something is wrong with the pool and they aren't there to fix it.

About 10 minutes later John and Kim, two of Rogers friends come over for a awim, super duper nice and rad so I didn't mind at all. John makes a mad dash for the pool seeing as my house is 100 degrees (did I mention the AC is busted too?) and Kim and I chat in the kitchen while I wait for Hillary. I tell Kim the story and we go out to look @ the leak. I make John promise he won't say a word to Roger until Saturday and he gets out of the pool to look @ it. He miraculously closes the small leak that left and even this morning before I left for work I checked and still looks good.

We ordered food from Fowler House via Dinner Delivered which was pretty damn awesome. At trivia a few months ago we won $20 from dinner delivered for answering a Bonus question. DD is pretty much this service that will deliver you food from all these various restaurants in Braintree/Quincy. So we picked Fowler House because they have the BEST pizza and it's cheap. We didn't realize we would have to wait an hour and a half unfortch. They did keep us updated though on when they were coming and such which was cool and the food was so yummy.

Working my face off today and then possibly maybe seeing The Simpsons tonight with Patrick and then tomorrow is Country Fest with Hillary and Jess!! So excited!! Kenny Chesney, my gals and some cool drinks - sounds like a great end to a good week!

Back from camping!!

Before I get into the camping story I must talk about getting the new Harry Potter book @ midnight on Friday.
Met up with Diana around 7 @ Rock Bottom for some din and chats. Saw my worst enemy in the entire world and I wanted to barf. Luckily Pat was coming shortly so he sat next to me therefore me being out of his eyeline. Piece of shit kept staring @ me.

Anyways. Hill and John met up with us and then we went to their house for some wine and guitar hero and we were soon off to Borders.

We had to park near the Garden part of KMart (anyone who knows Borders Braintree knows how FAR away that is). The lot was PACKED. We get in and turns out we're a twisted orange color. It was really entertaining for like a half hour maybe and then it got old. Took lots of pictures (I will post them tonight!) of some crazies and us turning into crazies. Found out that Barnes and Noble totally had NO crowd so we got a genious plan to head down there. Unfortch we don't make it but Hill and John do, so when we get to the door we're begging the guy to let us in. No avail. Asshole. He's like SORRY We're closed (literally like 3 minutes ago). WTF why wouldn't you want to sell more copies? We all head back to Hills and stop @ CVS - none there either. I figure I give it one more chance @ Borders cause it's so close to my house - Robyn and I walk in and we're like "What color are you on?" and the guy was like "eeeh.. ok just get in line and get the book". Sweet! We told them how much assholes BN was and they were happy (I found out yesterday that Borders sold the most copies in the entire US). Got the book and giddily read 2 chapters before I went to sleep.

Woke up early for camping to pack and etc. Really glad I got the book before the morning because I was super busy. Hardware store with R, supermarket liqor store, made my world famous chili and various other packing processes.

Picked up Robyn and headed for Claires. From Claires in Salem NH we made our way to Maine. Not before stopping @ Heavn'ly Donuts which is the best coffee ever! I have been hearing about it from my fam for so long and getting ridiculed for drinking DD. It is very good and I have went to the other side. I even bought a bag of coffee. So yum. Not the one Chris and Tom work @ but it was good regardless:) Then stopped @ Lisas house to say hi to them and lil Julia. So cute. She looks like what the Olsens looked like when they were 2 on Full House. For reaaal.

Finally got on the highway and got there around 5. Ate some din ran some errands and had a campfire.

Sunday we discovered the fun of Reny's. I'm sure there isn't any BUT maine but it's like a Target/Kmart smooshed down with way lower prices. Got some noodles (pool toys duh) and some Beach Towels. Layed out by the lake most of the day and caught up with Harry Potter though it's hard to read when your whole fam is around, so needless to say I didn't read much.

Monday we went to this campground that was like literally on the beach. Hermit Island or something along those lines. Listened to the old folks reminice about their time there as children and played in the ocean briefly with the cousins. Not sure if I could totally do it there. While gorgeous there are only outhouses and no electricity WHAT SO EVER. Eh. Got lobsters for dinner and then Mom, Claire, Robyn and I went our way to Boothbay Harbor. On the way we saw a guy selling homemade Whoopie Pies on the side of the road. For shits we stopped and bought a few. The guy was probs about 80 and had a "Whoopie Man" shirt on, homemade of course.

Did lil shopping in Boothbay. Picked up something for Kim's baby and something for Gram's birthday. Started raining hardcore so we popped in this lil dive for some food. Best boneless wings ev. hit a few more stores before we made the way back to the campground.

Got back had lobster fest with the fam. Best lobsters I have had in a while. After dinner we played this game called Left Right Center. You start with 3 quarters (or really whatever you want 3 dollars, 3 5 dollars, 3 pennies whatever. You roll 3 dice that have either Left, Right, or Center on them and you have the pass the quarters based on where you roll. If you get a dot that means you get to keep it. Seriously most fun and competitve game ever. Claire won twice, Roland twice and Jamie once. We were all scrounging for quarters the next day. We then went for a walk and played on this odd contraption and went back to the site. One of our neighbors comes over and gives us a HUGE bowl of steamers like seriously massive. We bring it down to the campfire and Jen brings over meatballs. I can't believe how much I ate that day. Insanity. Talked around the fire about funny stories when we were younger and went to bed.

Left yesterday but not before playing around the lake a lil more. Showered, said goodbyes and made our long journey back to Mass. Got back to Salem around 5 and had to battle the Boston commuters to get back to Braintree to change only to go back into Boston via T for the Motion City Soundtrack show which was amazing. But I'll save that for the next post.

Phew that was long.

I won the bag on EBAY!

Well ok Dan won it on Ebay mostly thanks to his insane Ebay smarts. And I was running all over the place when the auction was ending. He paid for it and then I paid him through PayPal.
For $58 bucks! Schweeet.
I can't wait to get my little hands on it.

PS I couldn't link to the picture because it was protected by whatever picture hosting place she used - but I screen capped it to bring it to my loyal 2 (3?) readers.

But yeah as you may have guessed I kept going after I was outbid.
The picture SERIOUSLY does not do it justice. You know how sometimes they said that on Ebay and you can tell their full of shit. But this bag is seriously amazingly gorge in real life.

I'm listening to Bush in my office. Very random. I heard one song on shuffle and I was like fuck I miss Bush. So here we are.

Anyways. I did the Step class last night @ the gym like I said I would. When I walked upstairs I saw lots of the regulars from other classes I take and they were like OO this class is hard! So the instructor sees me and she's like "Ohh you've never done this class before huh - oo well just so you know it's intermediate".
Me: Nope! This is my first time I love step though.
Her: ooo OK so you've done it before.
Me: Yep (clearly I'm thinking you idiot in my head).
Her: OK well it might be really hard to keep up being your first and you can stop whenever you want *turns around*.

How annoying that's for clearing that with me but don't underestimate me because I'm not a size 4.

Anywaysss. She then turns back around and says almost whispers, if you want to take off your risers and just use the step that's fine. I tell her I usually use 2 sets of risers in Aprils class but thanks I'll be fine with this one.

Honestly I learned two things about myself last night due to this class.
1. I may not be skinny and all but I am in good shape. I exercise at least 4 times a week usually doing some sort of high impact cardio and weights. I had NO problem keeping up and actually kept going when alot of the people in the class were taking breaks.
2. I DON'T back down from challenges - EVER. Not like I would have downgraded my step but even if I felt like I really needed to - I wouldn't have. Just because she had suggested it as an easier way.

Which I guess are two really good things to learn about youself.

Needless to say I felt like I just got out of a pool with all my clothes on! Gross I know but I sweated so much. It felt amazing. It's insane how good endorphins feel. I went for a swim in the rain when I got home and spent like a half hour in the hot tub. Verrry nice.
Can't forget to add that after the end of the class she told me I was one of like 2 other people that did the class for the first time and kicked ass. I told her I'd definitly be coming back.

JUST finished Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Def shed a few tears at the end even though John let it slip to me that Dumbledore dies at the end like months ago. So excited to go get the book tomorrow night @ Borders. I reserved it heck yes I did. I think I read a spoiler about it today but I'm trying to forget. Who knows, maybe it was just someones "prediction".

So that bag I wanted from Coach the other day - I'm totally winning it still on Ebay!
For a whopping $28 bucks.

Ok it's used. Gently used but used regardless. But if I am going to win it for $28 bucks I'm going to buy myself some suede cleaner and spruce it up. Because it's gorgeous and I am in love. If someone out bids me in the next 5 hours I don't know if I will keep up the bidding war. But you know I love me some healthy competition.

Woah the link is like 9 pages long hello.
I'll just have to model it when it's MINEE.

Went to Margartias with Robyn last night. It was opening night and stupid me I really didn't think we'd have to wait long. They told Robyn a half hour when she got there. We sat down an 90 minutes later. Food was good, margaritas were alright, service was eh. Our server was SO flustered but he was helpful. The balding guy at the table behind Robyn kept staring at my boobs. Not on the menu sir pay attention to your wife. So funny.

Decided today that I am definitely going to go to New York for Cara's birthday in 2 weeks! I was talking about it with my mom last night and she was like it's time to do something for yourself! Go! And she's right. I don't do anything because I WANT to anymore. I do things because I have to. Like I was saying in my previous post I don't even really want to go camping (but I'm starting to get a little more amping knowing I can devote some time with the new Harry Potter book which I have so nerd-ily pre ordered @ Borders).

New York should be really fun. I actually JUST remembered today while reading Trent's Blog that Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp are reprising their roles in Rent this summer. I reals want to go. But I'm sure there will be too much fun and debauchery going on.

I'm think I'm going to do the 6:30 step class @ the gym. I need to sweat badly. That sounds so gross.

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Ok so I'm getting a little bit more excited for camping this weekend. I still don't really want to go but I'll try to make the best of it. It's only for a few days and I have Motion City Soundtrack July 24, Jesse and Kevin July 25 and Country Fest on July 28 to look forward to.

I'm mostly excited because the WHOLE damn family is coming and I rarely get to see them. It should be a good time. Claire, Robyn and I will be going up together Saturday (hopefully after everything has been set up) and leaving Tuesday around 2pm.

Hoping at least to get to Boothbay Harbor for some seafood and shopping.

Still at work on a Tuesday is rare for me. I usually go to the gym @ 5:30 for my class but I am getting so very annoyed with the instructor lately so I really had little motivation to go. I'd rather go home and play around in the nice weather (which is what I will be doing in about 20 mins or so). I'll try to go tomorrow night and definitely Thursday night for Aprils class.

Totally pre-ordered the new Harry Potter book today so I can get it before I go on said camping trip. I think it will be a read off between Robyn and I. I'm really almost done with the 6th book!

Until next time.

Lost.
Yes it seems as I have been dragged into that show by my friends who talk about endlessly.
I borrowed Season 1 from Hil yesterday and I watched the first two eps before bed. Which if anyone knows me wasn't a good idea because it really freaked me out. When they get to the top of that hill in the season part of the pilot and hear what the lady is saying in french I got really weired out. Which I guess is good because that makes for good TV.

Not a good time to start it because I'm really trying to finish Harry Potter book 6 before the 7th book comes out on Friday. I will be so mad if someone blows the ending for me. Seriously.

PS totally found that bag online and I'm bidding for it on ebay as I type.

Sunday, July 15, 2007

What a nice weekend.
Played with my pals Friday night, went out with my main gay Saturday (thanks for the present!), chillaxed Sat night, shopped my face off today and had a dinner talking about wildly innappropriate things with 3 of my favorite people.

Last night Robyn came over and I made nachos old school style. I got possibly the BEST myspace message ever from a drunk pat (even though when we were talking about it I guess I misunderstood partially - I like my interpretation better btw).

Today Annie, Katrina and I went to breakfast and then Hil called me and we went to the Wrentham Outlets = me spending money and loving every minute of it.

I saw this bag @ Coach. I wish I could find an image of it but it was BEAUTIFUL! The only one of it's kind in the store. With the sale it would have been $120. It was $230, marked down to 150 them 20% off. I HAD to have it. But after doing the math in my head I really shouldn't be buying it. But I still held on to it. Finally a girl asks me where I found it and I was like have it. Please take it from me. I hope that gives me good bag karma.

I did however treat myself to a very nice Micheal Kors jacket.

And some cute stuff @ the Gap Outlet.

Dinner was enjoyable as always. We are the most innapropriate people EVER. EVER.
I love them.

Starting South Beach offically again tomorrow.
Mostly because I want to look nice @ the wedding, oh and I have to try on the bridesmaid dresses in the next few weeks.
Greattttt.

Is it nerdy that I am excited for work tomorrow?

Thursday, July 12, 2007

Dan sent me the link to this commerical today and I thought it was quite awesome.

Which reminds me I really want to go to a game soon.
Anyone interested in going Guerilla style sometime soon?
EDIT: By Guerilla style I mean like just going and winging it and if not we don't get tickets (which almost NEVER happens) we watch it in Tequila Rain or something. Silly faces.

Did alot of writing today for work.
Yesterday I got a request for one of our clients in the Nov/Dec issue of InStyle from the pitch I sent out which is pretty exciting since I'm new and haven't really done anything yet. This is good and makes me way more confident in my writing.

My boss sent out a Welcome email about me to the rest of the company yesterday pretty much talking me up hardcore. I never realized how cool I look on paper errr on email rather. One of the guys in the other office who's a youngin like me emailed me back and sent a picture of him high up Wyoming cause I have never been out there. I feel the need to share the gorgeous-ness.

He says where the arrow is, is his office. LOL.

Anywhoo. I'm sitting in my brr cold office wearing a hoodie from one of our clients just finishing up for the day.

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

So I can't play any of my music that's on my iPod on my iTunes here @ work.
And it's quite annoying because that's pretty much how I buy my music.
Apparently you can only authorize 5 computers to play the music and with my house and work computers crashing and then registering it on my Mac I have used up my 5.
I wonder if I went to the Apple store they could give me a secret to over-ride it? Or maybe disable the other ones?
It's really annoying.

So I submitted my first piece of writing at my new job yesterday.
I looked it over 100 times and made sure the grammar was on point.
And I sent it to my boss. Then she calls me in and tells me about all this other random stuff and as I was walking out she's like - oh great pitch by the way! You're my new pitch girl.

Are you serious. Yeah awesome. It always feels so good to be accomplished.
And I think about it after how stressed I was about writing it - but I'm a good writer and I wish I didn't underestimate myself.

I'm super excited to see the new Harry Potter tonight. I have seen it already about 3 weeks ago @ a Trade Screening but that was with just Gregg and like 10 other people. I'm looking forward to seeing it with a packed audience and the whole gang.

I think that ends my summer of movies I'm excited for. Well ok Hairspray but that's it. I'm done after that.
Of course in October Joaquin's new movie "We Own the Night" comes out. Looks not so great but hello I'll see it anyways.
Also in October Gone, Baby, Gone comes out. I JUST saw the preview the other day and I'm super stoked for it. I've read half of the book but had to put it aside to finish Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (yeah yeah I know I'm still not done) because I don't want to be the only one NOT reading the final book. I'm going through it pretty fast mostly because I'm forcing myself to read it whenever possible.

Name That Bag!

I really love this Chanel Handbag that Emma is carrying.
I want to know the deets! Not even the fashion spot gang know what the story with it is?
Not to mention this gal has been decked out in Chanel for all the premieres and such.
Jealous.
Can't wait.

For real I am so excited.
I love this darn show.

I have a secret love affair with the West Coast. Shh don't tell.

Speaking of the West Coast my boss told me offically today I will be going to Las Vegas Sept 26 for a Trade Show/Convention. She assured me there will be LOTS of bike geeks there. I'm praying Lance Armstrong will be there and will bring his two friends Jake and Matt. Hey a girl can dream.

Monday, July 09, 2007

Well what do you know...

So I was thinking about this trailer I saw before Transformers.

It's a new movie by JJ Abrams (writer, producer of LOST and I'm sure other things).

One of the most AMAZING trailors I have ever seen.

I would LOVE to embed it here but Paramount Pictures apparently took all of the trailors that were circulating the internet.

But what you can see is the very cryptic website.

http://www.1-18-08.com/

Alot of people are coming up with crazy conspiracies and I am one of them.
You know I LOVEEEEE conspiracies.

You can also see some info on IMDB. Search Cloverfield but it will come up The Untitled JJ Abrams Project etc.

I don't know I have this theory that it is one big PR stunt. And that there is NO real movie to be seen. But why would one do that. Apparently the movie is said to be shot all by hand camera a la Blair Witch Project but without the motion sickness.

I also think though that this could be the BEST movie marketing in history (let's not forget about the Aqua Teen bomb scare of 2007) . I can see spoofs/parodies/copy cats already.

As soon as I find a working link I will post it here.
Ok so I am making a promise to update this at least 3 times a week. If I don't please hit me in the head with a bat.

Ahem ok.

Still at work burning the midnight oil (@ 6 pm whatever).

I work better when no one is around and there's been tension @ my house between Roger and I so I feel it better to not be around my house. Needless to say because of the tension I'm really hoping to move out but I totally can't afford to move on my own and I really don't want a roomate (well I don't NOT want a roommate I just don't know who I'd ever move in with because all my friends are prac married).

Oh I have also got an amazing new job since I last posted!
At this new job I get to do way more writing, I get to put in my input more and oh I'm also getting paid double than what I was getting paid before and getting benefits. Sweeeeet.

And it's in Scituate = me not having to go into Boston.

Boston, I love you but taking the T into and out of town each day would ruin my soul.
Oh and I can wear whatever I want.

In total Harry Potter mode now. I pretty much watched HP all weekend on Fox Family to get jazzed (even though I've already seen the 5th movie but I'm seeing it Wednesday night with the gang anyways). Ever notice when they play movies on TV sometimes they have random new scenes put in?? Well Fox Family added so many new scenes to the 1st movie.

Saw Transformers last week and it was phenomenal. People were cheering @ the end that's how great it was. I love Shia LaBeouf. Yum.

Good times.
More later!
